Bath & North East Somerset Council is continuing development of a clean air zone for Bath that will help to reduce nitrogen dioxide (NO2) pollution in the city to within legal limits by 2021 at the latest. This type of air pollution is caused by vehicle emissions.
The council has now decided on a scheme that features a class C clean air zone (CAZ), charging most higher-emission vehicles to drive in the city centre from late 2020. Private cars and motorbikes will not be charged.
Bath Quays North is set to be an inspiring, contemporary central business district. Set opposite the Bath Quays South site, Bath Quays North will inject life into an otherwise underused area, and will reconnect Bath to its riverside.
