The 2019 programme is promising to be the best yet filled with stimulating workshops, engaging activities and a showcase of digital innovation. From tech gurus to people dipping their toes into the digital world, there’s an event for everyone to enjoy. Digital touches us all and the festival aims to explore an array of subjects. Learn how to build a computer game, find out how digital is creating exciting opportunities within healthcare… video creation, AI, robotics and more. Stay tuned as events are being added daily.

Invest in Bath among festival sponsors

Amongst the corporate sponsors already signed up are Altran, Amazon Web Services, Bath BID, Bath Quays and Storm. At Invest in Bath we are delighted to once again be a key supporter of the best tech festival in the West of England. Cognisess is this year's headline sponsor; the company provides the world’s most comprehensive predictive people analytics software.

Bath Digital Festival asked Chris Butt, the founder and CEO of Cognisess why he thought it was important to get behind such an event: “The Festival is about promoting the very best in digital that Bath and the wider region has to offer and Cognisess is proud to support it this year. The importance to the local economy should not be underestimated with more start-ups having a digital or tech component than ever before. There is so much interesting work happening in this sector and there is competition for the best talent so Bath has to keep putting itself forward as a place to be. The Festival will showcase this talent and highlight to investors, politicians and companies that this region is at the forefront of the 4th industrial revolution.'

If you’re still wondering what goes on, here is some feedback following last year’s festival: “Great insights from some talented and experienced people, it was good to hear a few different people’s perspectives on the subject matter” from the event: New Frontiers in Digital Creativity. “Super interesting, informative”“Off the back of this workshop I have taken it upon myself to ensure the agency I work at is taking steps to be more secure,” from a workshop on Interactive Cyber Security.  If you’re thinking about a future career in tech or a complete career change, or just interested in how technology can help save the world there will be something for you.

Event Picks

Highlights include family events such as coding for kids, an interactive drone show, parenting in today's digital age, an algorithmic art workshop, and activities for young girls with Girlguiding. There are a host of speakers and volunteers here on hand to answer the questions so come and have a look and get involved.

Invest in Bath will also be running an event with a number of partners - watch this space for more details! You can see the full event schedule as it develops over the next month.
