Examples of projects considered for grant funding would include:

  • Increasing forestry/woodland productivity.

For each category there is a mandatory match funding element which varies per category (please visit the LEADER website for more information).

LEADER is a European rural development fund established to address barriers to rural growth and well-being. North Somerset, Bath & North East Somerset and South Gloucestershire will benefit from £1.4m in funding over the next five years.

Steve Marriot, LEADER Programme Manager said; “This new programme will allow rural businesses and communities, who are often overlooked by their urban neighbours, to receive funding and support helping them to grow their businesses and become more sustainable.”
