Reporting Confirmed Covid Cases

28 Aug 2020

What to do if you have a suspected or confirmed case of coronavirus in your workplace

You don't need to report a possible case of coronavirus if a member of staff tells you that they might have symptoms. If they do tell you that they have symptoms, please ensure the person stays at home, self-isolates and books a test, by phone 119 or online

If you have two or more possible cases of coronavirus, review the latest guidance on GOV.UK. If you need further advice, please contact local Public Health England Health Protection Team (PHE HPT) on 0300 303 8162

Reporting one confirmed case

Email our Public Health Team at public_health@bathnes.gov.uk for advice and support. We ask that you do not give the name or contact details of the member of staff who has coronavirus.

Reporting two or more confirmed cases

Call the local PHE HPT on 0300 303 8162

Early engagement with the local PHE HPT is key to minimise any possible wider outbreak in the community. They will work with you to assess the risks and advise you what actions to take.

After you have reported the cases to the local PHE HPT, please also email our Public Health Team at public_health@bathnes.gov.uk

Collecting customer and visitor data for NHS Test and Trace

The opening up of the economy following the COVID-19 outbreak is being supported by NHS Test and Trace.

Businesses should assist this service by:

  • Keeping a temporary record of your customers and visitors for 21 days, in a way that is manageable for your business
  • assisting NHS Test and Trace with requests for that data if needed

This could help to contain clusters or outbreaks.
