The company may have said goodbye to their store on Burton Street, but Rupert and Buckley is leaping from strength to strength, having grown 130% in the last year and receiving approval for £2.5m of funding to expand the brand. They also won Best Dressed Stand at INDX Menswear Show in July 2016, a unique show for independent retailers to exhibit visiting buyers.

Rupert and Buckley began when founder James Buckley-Thorp decided to make socks in his rowing team's colours and sell them to his team mates. The Rupert and Buckley image is focussed on preppy looks, accessories and events.

The brand now plans on entering over 130 department stores across the country, and operates its warehouse in Bath’s Oldfield Park. The upmarket brand appeals to many of the city’s university students and teenagers, who will be happy to note that Rupert and Buckley intend to have a Bath store again soon, possibly on Milsom Street.
