Staff development event comes to Bath

As of 2020 1 in 3 British workers are over the age of 50. Employers are reporting skills shortages across a wide range of roles and sectors ranging from hospitality to business services. Our council partner Achieve B&NES is organising a new business event called the Midlife MOT in order to help them tackle issues relating to an ageing workforce, increase productivity and close skills gaps. The free event takes place on 27 Februray 2020 at the Apex Hotel, Bath from 10am until 4pm with lunch and refreshements provided.


The Midlife MOT is set to have representatives from Google, Business in the Community, Aviva, Legal & General, Virgin Care, Lloyds, and many more!

  • Key speakers –Aviva (who are the pioneers of the mid-life MOT), Business in the Community, ACAS, Mindflex and Bath College
  • Full workshop – Google #iamremarkable and Business in Community (BITC) Age Friendly Employer workshop for businesses
  • Stands – a huge range of local providers and businesses such as; Legal and General, NHS, RUH, Credit Union, Bath Mind, B&NES Council, Adviza, Future Bright
  • Bite Size Workshops – 8 minutes / 8 slides from Credit Union, Adviza, Virgin Care, Lloyds Academy, Silver Fox Network, Resource Harbour
  • Networking opportunities with a room full of likeminded employers (buffet lunch included)
