Bath & North East Somerset Council’s Film Office has been shortlisted for an internationally recognised award for its work on hit television period drama Bridgerton.

The Location Managers Guild International (LMGI) award celebrates exemplary work above and beyond the usual service expected from a Film Office.

Partners back magic of Bath at Christmas

An enticing package of traditional festive events and experiences to enhance the magic of Bath at Christmas and support the city’s businesses is set to be announced by local partners.

Bath & North East Somerset Council, Bath BID, Visit West, SouthGate Bath and Milsom Place are working together on the ‘Bath at Christmas’ programme to ensure the city sparkles and attracts visitors this festive season.

Bath & North East Somerset Council, faced with a “double whammy” of Brexit and Covid, which has led to a national shortage of logistics and security staff, is reshaping this year’s Christmas events programme, including its Bath Christmas Market.

The move follows concerns that the national recruitment crisis for security and specialist staff and equipment makes it impossible to run the Bath Christmas Market, which is one of the largest in the country, safely, securely and within reasonable cost.

Bristol & Bath LegalTech Survey

This survey is part of a research project by Whitecap Consulting into LegalTech in Bristol & Bath, currently supported by Bristol Law Society, the West of England Combined Authority (WECA), Invest Bristol & Bath, Bristol+BathLegalTech, Foot Anstey, Burges Salmon, Datasharp Integrated Communications, and VWV . 
 

The output will be a published report detailing the findings and recommendations as to how the region can collectively build its competitive advantage in LegalTech.
 

Local Restrictions Support Grant

The Local Restrictions Support Grant (LRSG) supports businesses that were open as usual, providing services in person to customers from their business premises, but which were then required to close for at least 3 weeks due to local lockdown restrictions imposed by government.

It is for businesses that pay business rates on their premises. Local councils may at their discretion also provide funding for businesses that don’t pay business rates.
