20 MARCH UPDATE: ADDITIONAL COVID-19 SUPPORT MEASURES ANNOUNCED BY GOVERNMENT

We recognise the challenges faced by business during this period and this is the latest information about the support that is available, 

The Government announced a new Expanded Retail Discount scheme for retail, leisure and hospitality premises in response to COVID-19. Under the scheme, eligible premises will receive a discount of up to 100% on their bill for 2020/21.

The Studio at Palace Yard Mews is Bath Spa University’s city centre home for innovation, research, and enterprise.

The Studio provides a space for local micro-businesses & Bath Spa University residents to work on projects and ideas which focus on creativity and technology. It is also a venue to share learning through regular workshops, events and activities which are open to the wider community.

Eoin Sharkey, MEng alumnus, has designed an all-in-one, off-grid toilet and waste processing system that utilises biodigestion to convert human waste into cooking fuel and soil conditioner.  

Shut that door, and save energy

Shops and businesses in Keynsham, Bath, Midsomer Norton and Radstock are being asked to shut that door as part of a new drive to save energy and help them cut fuel bills.

Bath and North East Somerset Council and Bath BID are supporting the campaign to get shops, restaurants and cafés, to keep their doors closed during the working day.
