Businesses finding it difficult to raise funding from traditional lenders can apply to the Fredericks Foundation for up to £10,000 for start-up businesses and up to £20,000 for established firms with a financial track record of at least 3 years.
The fund is open to sole traders, partnerships and limited companies who have unsuccessfully made attempts to raise finance from a bank or other mainstream lender. Applicants can get support during the application process and, if successful, can receive business mentoring.
Businesses based in the Bath and North East Somerset area benefit from the large talent pool provided by Bath's two universities, but graduates often lack experience in the workplace, which can make them much less employable. SMEs can struggle to bridge the gap; training employees takes times and money that many businesses don't really have. So why should you hire an intern?
